Position Title: Business Analyst
Department: Product Development
Reports To: VP, Product Management
Duration: Full time

The Business Analyst will work with the VP Product Management to develop and execute the product vision and roadmap for the vertical markets that Novator serves, in support of the company’s strategic and financials goals.

Qualifications:

Education: University degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or related discipline.

Experience:

• 5 years as a Business Analyst in a software or e-commerce service environment
• Demonstrated use of standard techniques (JAD, interviewing, use case modeling, gap-fit analysis, process definition, requirements management) for gathering requirements
• Experience developing standard software documents including Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, Configuration Documents, Use Cases, diagrams etc.
• Client relationship management experience with proven skills in negotiation, expectation management and facilitation.
• Strong knowledge of: Internet application development in a Java environment, data modeling, databases and quality assurance processes
• Experience working in the SDLC
• Knowledge of, and interest in, the ecommerce market space
• Practical experience with statistical reporting, data mining and BI.
• Proven ability to serve as a liaison between technical developers and product management
• Strong analytical, leadership, problem solving and decision making skills
• Superior listening skills as well as written and verbal communication skills
• Efficient organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent demands
• Experience working collaboratively in a team-based setting and accepting ownership of issues while sharing credit for team successes
• Effective decision-making skills
• Detail oriented self-starter with diligence to follow issues through to conclusion
• Ability to think outside the ‘box’, and demonstrate creativity in problem solving and new approaches.
• Excellent professional integrity and a strong work ethic
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, Visio and Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with internal and external stakeholders to gather and document business needs and translate that need into software features
• Work collaboratively within the Product Management team to define, analyze and prioritize product features
• Produce qualify software documents including business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, process flow diagrams, and other documents for clients, internal stakeholders and the software development team
• Review technical specifications, interface designs, test plans and test cases, user acceptance test results, user documentation, training materials, etc
• Review and prioritize defects within product release cycles Provide ideas and input into the Product Management team relating to product development, user experience, process improvements, and product features.
• Be a subject matter expert on the product, providing guidance and consulting services to internal departments, clients and other BAs.
• Apply business case logic and sound decision-making skills in managing feature definition and project scope
• Lead internal training sessions at release launch
