Senior HR Manager / Office Manager

Qualifications

Education

Human Resources related degree or post secondary diploma program or equivalent work experience

Experience

  • 5-10 years progressive HR experience as an HR Generalist or HR Manager, preferably in a high-tech environment
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in facilities/office management
  • Clearly understand a start-up environment
  • Skilled in the use of standard office equipment such as Internet, MS Office, voice mail, phone systems
  • Demonstrated track record of developing an HR group that produced strong measurable results for the organization
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation that governs employment policies and practices
  • Able to work as a team member and demonstrate a professional demeanor.
  • Excellent problem solving, leadership, organizational and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, changing environment
  • Must be able to shift priorities and handle tasks with confidentiality and discretion
  • Able to build a rapport with individuals at all levels in and outside the organization.
  • An ability to juggle several balls at once!

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment
    • Prepare job descriptions, post jobs, conduct interviews, check references, prepare employment letters
    • Select and manage recruiterso Manage internal referral program
  • Employee Development and Training
    • Organize and conduct all new hire orientations
    • Monitor/evaluate/recommend employee training
  • Compensation
    • Manage the annual compensation program, including gathering local market and competitive data; manages pay for performance assessment tools: facilitate leadership decisions regarding base pay increases
    • Rewards and recognition
  • Benefit Plan Administration
    • Select, review, revise and administer benefit plan
    • Administer stock option plan
  • Employee Review
    • Facilitate and manage annual employee review process
    • Conduct exit interviews
    • Handle highly sensitive and confidential matters
    • Ensure that Human Resources KPI’s such as Attendance, Turnover, Retention etc. are tracked and monitored
  • HR Manual
    • Own and maintain policies and procedures documents, organizational charts, job descriptions
    • Provide information to all staff on HR issues, such as benefits entitlements, HR policies and procedures, matters relating to pay and deductions, etc.
  •  Office Management
    • Liaise with facilities and premises management in areas of lease, rent, maintenance, safety and security
    • Coordinate office moves, office administration programs and projects, while maintaining an efficient and well-organized office environment
    • Manage company events
    • Manage reception
